About The Author
Major General Fida Hussain Malik,(Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), MA English Literature, Balochistan University; MSc Art and Science of Warfare and MSc War Studies, National Defence University Islamabad; graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, Defence Inter Services Staff College Paris, and French School of War Studies), was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in 1986. During his 33-year military service, he has held key command, instruction, and staff appointments. Since November 2018 he has been serving as Director General Doctrine and Evaluation. He has authored two books on law enforcement and counter-insurgency operations: Hounding the Shadows of Terror, and Waziristan: the Simmering Backyard. He has also written many articles and research papers that have been published in professional magazines of the Pakistan Army and the French War College Paris.
